These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Verifext.com and the plagiarism detection tools, reports, and editorial content provided by Verifext ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may modify these Terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected in the updated date above.

2. Description of Service

Verifext provides a free, web-based plagiarism and originality checking tool that compares submitted text against publicly indexed web sources. The Service also publishes educational editorial content about plagiarism, academic integrity, and content quality.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using Verifext, you represent that you meet this requirement and have authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself or your organization.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Submit content you do not have the right to analyze
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload our systems
• Circumvent rate limits or security measures
• Use automated bots to mass-submit scans without permission
• Misrepresent scan results as definitive legal or academic verdicts
• Upload malware, spam, or malicious content

5. No Account Required

Verifext does not require registration. Scan results are accessible via unique URLs you may share at your discretion. You are responsible for who you share result links with.

6. Accuracy Disclaimer

Plagiarism detection is probabilistic, not absolute. Results indicate similarity to indexed web sources and should be interpreted as guidance — not as definitive proof of plagiarism or originality. Verifext is not responsible for academic, legal, or professional decisions made based on scan reports.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of text you submit. By submitting content, you grant Verifext a limited license to process, analyze, and temporarily store it solely to provide the Service. Verifext editorial content, branding, software, and design are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced without permission.

8. Data Retention

Submitted text and scan results are automatically deleted after 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

9. Advertising

The Service may display advertisements through Google AdSense. Ad content is served by third parties and is not endorsed by Verifext. Your interactions with ads are governed by the advertiser's terms and Google's policies.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verifext is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including academic penalties, lost revenue, or reputational harm based on scan results.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Verifext against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights through content you submit.

12. Termination

We may suspend or restrict access to the Service at any time for abuse, security threats, or operational reasons without prior notice.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable international and local laws without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction.
