Verifext is operated as an editorial technology platform — not an anonymous tool site. We publish named authors, document our detection pipeline, and maintain independent editorial standards.
Draft text remains in your browser until you initiate a scan. We do not silently upload clipboard content or monitor keystrokes.
Phrase extraction, search orchestration, and similarity scoring run on Verifext infrastructure over TLS. No client-side API keys are exposed.
We query Bing, Mojeek, DuckDuckGo HTML, and Brave in fallback sequence — never paid search APIs — to retrieve candidate URLs for comparison.
We document CAPTCHA blocks, language coverage gaps, and the difference between web matching and AI authorship detection in our FAQ and editorial policy.
Verifext is a free online plagiarism detection tool paired with an editorial content platform focused on originality, academic integrity, and responsible publishing. We built Verifext because writers, students, and publishers deserve fast, transparent originality checks without paywalls or mandatory sign-ups.
We believe original work strengthens trust — in classrooms, newsrooms, and search results. Our mission is to make originality verification accessible to everyone while publishing expert educational content that helps users understand plagiarism, paraphrasing, AI-assisted writing, and SEO content quality.
Every article on our blog is researched, written, and reviewed by our editorial team. We cite authoritative sources, update content when policies change, and distinguish clearly between educational guidance and tool functionality. We do not publish AI-generated articles without human review and fact-checking.
Verifext is used by students verifying essays before submission, freelance writers delivering client-ready content, SEO teams screening guest posts, researchers checking manuscript originality, and teachers demonstrating citation best practices in the classroom.
We operate verifext.com with clear privacy and terms policies. Scan data is never sold. We use Google AdSense to support free access to our tool, and we maintain editorial independence — our guides are not influenced by advertisers.
Editorial Independence
Our blog recommendations reflect editorial judgment, not paid placements. When we link to external resources, it is because they provide genuine value to readers learning about originality.

Verifext is not a black box. Our plagiarism pipeline combines browser-local input control with server-side web search and similarity analysis. We do not claim to scan proprietary academic databases (Turnitin, iThenticate) — we match against publicly indexed web content using documented free search providers.
Verifext focuses on source overlap detection, not probabilistic AI authorship classification. Articles on our blog discuss AI writing separately; the core scanner compares your text to live web URLs.
