Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-20

This Cookie Policy explains how Verifext ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar storage technologies on verifext.com. It should be read together with our [Privacy Policy](/en/privacy).

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage, which we use for language preferences and cookie consent choices.

2. Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary (Essential)

These cookies are required for the site to function. They cannot be disabled via our consent tool without breaking core features.

  • Language preference — a first-party cookie (`verifext_lang`) remembers your interface language after you visit a language URL or after automatic detection on the homepage
  • Cookie consent — stores your advertising consent choice so we do not ask on every visit (local storage)
  • Security & rate limiting — server-side session data tied to your IP to prevent abuse (not a browser cookie, but related to service operation)

Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)

If you click Accept all on our cookie banner, we load Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies to:

  • Serve and measure advertisements
  • Limit how often you see the same ad
  • Personalize ads based on your browsing history (where permitted by law)
  • Detect fraud and invalid traffic

These cookies are not set if you choose Essential only. We do not load the AdSense script until you grant advertising consent.

Analytics

We do not currently run a separate first-party analytics platform. Aggregated server logs (IP, pages visited, timestamps) are used for security and reliability only — see our Privacy Policy. If we add analytics cookies in the future, this policy will be updated and consent will be requested where required.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Third parties that may set cookies when you use Verifext (after consent where required):

  • Google AdSense / Google Ads — advertising delivery and measurement
  • Google Fonts — font delivery (may log IP address; no advertising profile)
  • Web search API providers — used server-side for plagiarism scans; they do not set browser cookies on your device

4. How to Manage or Disable Cookies

On Verifext

  • Click Manage cookies in the site footer to change your consent at any time
  • Choose Essential only to withdraw advertising consent — we will stop loading AdSense on subsequent page loads
  • Clear site data in your browser to reset all local preferences

In Your Browser

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Instructions are usually found under Settings → Privacy. Blocking all cookies may prevent language preferences from being saved.

Google Advertising Settings

You can control how Google personalizes ads across the web:

Essential cookies are used based on legitimate interest in providing a secure, functional service. Advertising cookies are used only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time without affecting access to our free plagiarism checker.

6. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy when our technology or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.

7. Contact
