For Legal & Compliance Teams
Legal Document Verification — Source Overlap Screening
Screen contracts, briefs, and policy drafts for unintended duplication from public legal templates and indexed web sources.
- No privileged upload storage
- SSL-encrypted transfer
- Methodology disclosure
- Not legal advice — verification only
Legal teams reuse vetted clause libraries — but **unmarked template overlap** from public websites can create compliance and reputational risk. Verifext provides a documented originality scan for non-privileged draft text you choose to verify.
Scope & Limitations
This tool performs web source matching, not legal analysis. It does not access Westlaw, Lexis, or court filing systems. Results highlight publicly indexed similarities — useful for paralegals and compliance officers screening memos, privacy policies, and terms drafts.
Recommended Workflow
- Remove client-identifying metadata before scanning if testing externally hosted Verifext
- Paste one section at a time (definitions, liability, data processing clauses)
- Review each matched URL — boilerplate may be acceptable if properly licensed
- Document your review in matter files; attach Verifext report links as due-diligence artifacts
- Consult qualified counsel for binding legal interpretation
Security Posture
Scans use TLS encryption. Text is not used for advertising profiling. Reports auto-expire after 30 days. For highly sensitive matters, evaluate whether any third-party web tool meets your firm's data handling policy before use.
Not Legal Advice
Verifext is an educational technology platform. Scan results do not constitute legal opinions, warranty of originality, or compliance certification.

Legal Document Verification — FAQ
Is Verifext suitable for attorney-client privileged documents?
You must apply your firm's confidentiality policy. We delete scan data after 30 days and do not sell content, but any cloud tool may be inappropriate for certain privileged materials.
Can this verify contract originality for court filing?
No. Courts require human legal judgment. This tool only flags web overlaps to assist internal review.
Does it check against other law firms' filings?
Only where those filings appear in publicly indexed web search results. Private databases are out of scope.
What languages are supported?
The interface supports 15 languages. Matching quality depends on web index coverage for each language.
How should we document scans for compliance?
Save the shareable report URL and timestamp in your matter management system. Reports expire after 30 days — export key findings before deletion if your policy requires longer retention.
