Read, close, then write
Effective paraphrase starts with comprehension. Read the source, close it, and write from memory and understanding. If you write with the source on screen, you will mirror its structure.
Change structure, not just words
Swap synonyms while keeping the same sentence skeleton is still plagiarism. Reorder clauses, combine or split sentences, and shift emphasis to reflect your argument.
Always cite paraphrases
